Benaki Museum – Pireos Building: exhibitions, events and more for the art of today

Hosting mostly exhibitions and events of modern art, Pireos Annex of Benaki Buildings has become one of the most representative venues of contemporary art in Athens.
The museum is closed on Monday - Wednesday.

The Benaki Museum is a network of seven sites in Athens. With many collections and cultural activities, Benaki Museum demonstrates how the different cultures and historical periods of the past meet modern art moves.
The numerous temporary exhibitions, publications, conferences, concerts and educational programmes make the Benaki Museum a multifarious art institution of the 21st century.

The Pireos building is a modern building that hosts mostly exhibitions of modern art. Also, many significant events and conferences, often of great success, take place in this annex of Benaki Museum.
The building has a courtyard of 850 m2, halls of 3,000 m2 and an amphitheatre seating 300 people.

• Ticket “The Benaki Museum Experience” priced at € 25 which entitles the visitor to one entrance per exhibition in all the Benaki Museum buildings, valid for 3 months

Benaki Museum Shop:
The shop of the Benaki Museum is very well known for the quality of the products it offers.

Also, its collaboration with Greek designers has given access to an extensive range of outstanding art creations, from decorative items to jewels and more. The works by designers are accompanied by a description in two languages that includes information on the creator, and the technique used.

Reproductions bear seals of authenticity by the Benaki Museum and the collaborating studio so that their quality and identity is certified, and are accompanied by a description of the museum item in two languages, in Greek and in English. These descriptions – written by the curators of the Museum’s exhibitions – include the provenance of the item, the time when it was created and how the original was used.

All items come packaged in special, well-designed packaging.
