If one was asked to give this shop a name, answering “Flâneur” would be of no surprise. “Flâneur” means in French the person who saunters and observes the world. In that sense, this shop is definitely made for the “Flâneurs” who happen to find themselves in Athens.
Rather than a shop, Flâneur is a place that invites you to discover new sources of inspiration about traveling: world maps that you’ve never seen again, elegant clothes and fashion items, smart, handmade little objects, carefully selected vinyls and much more. Objects represent the work of both Greek and international designers. Despite their quality and sophistication, all items are very fairly priced, starting from 8€ for a pair of handmade earrings, for example.
Located at the very centre of Plaka, you can visit “Flâneur” as a break in between your sightseeing activities.
Yannis explains that their objective for Flâneur is to be a place where people feel their travel and exploration just goes on. “Flâneur is a state of mind”, Katerina adds. We agree, indeed.
