An Afternoon with Chef Paris Anton
Description
Where Greek traditions meet Texas flair—join TraveLab for an exclusive, flavor-packed afternoon in Athens with celebrated chef Paris Anton. Paris Anton isn’t just any chef—she’s a Greek-American culinary powerhouse based in Houston, known for her bold personality, unforgettable flavors, and deep-rooted love for her heritage. And now, she’s inviting TraveLab guests into her Athenian kitchen for a truly one-of-a-kind cooking experience that blends family tradition with modern flair. 🍽️ Your Day in Detail: Hotel Pickup & Welcome Your experience begins with a warm welcome and private pickup from your Athens hotel. We'll whisk you away to a stylish, sunlit kitchen nestled in a charming Athenian neighborhood where Chef Paris will be waiting—apron on and arms open. You’ll be greeted like family, with Greek coffee, koulouria, and laughter as she introduces the day’s menu and shares stories from her upbringing between the olive trees of Kalamata and the kitchens of Texas. Hands-On Cooking Class Roll up your sleeves—it’s time to cook! Under Paris’ lively guidance, you’ll learn how to prepare a mouthwatering multi-course Greek feast using fresh, seasonal ingredients and artisanal products from her family farm. You’ll master: Homemade tzatziki with creamy Greek yogurt and fresh herbs Spanakopita (spinach pies) with hand-folded phyllo and secret spice blends Traditional gemista (stuffed tomatoes and peppers) baked to perfection Kalamata-style roast lamb, slow-cooked in her signature olive oil And a surprise dessert straight from her yia-yia’s handwritten recipe book Throughout the session, Paris will pepper the experience with culinary tips, personal anecdotes, and the kind of contagious enthusiasm that turns strangers into friends. The Long Table Lunch Once the cooking is done, you’ll gather around a beautifully set table—either in her breezy dining space or alfresco under the Athenian sky. Glasses of local wine will clink as you dive into the feast you helped prepare. It’s not just a meal; it’s a memory. Expect heartfelt conversation, spontaneous dancing, and maybe even a little Greek music to seal the moment. Take Home a Taste of Greece As a parting gift, you'll have the opportunity to purchase small-batch olive oil and hand-harvested spices straight from Chef Paris’ family estate in Kalamata—a piece of Greece to bring home to your own kitchen.
